    • A beautiful linoprint for anyone enraptured by the sea!

    • The mermaid is such a well-loved mythical creature. They hold an appeal for me because I grew up by the sea and spent many happy hours in the water. I always wished that I could stay far longer under the water than I could. The mermaid is our opposite, they get to live in the water but they do not get to enjoy the land as we do. At a deeper level, for me 'The Watcher' represents the process of observing something which we can not have and letting it go.

Behind The Scenes

Rowan is committed to slow art and appreciates the joy and satisfaction that comes with working by hand. Rowan prints all of her original linoprints in the front sunroom of her house in Lewisham, Sydney. It is a small space (no room for a big press), but a happy and productive one, proving that you don't need a lot of room to make beautiful art.
